As part of its pan-Indian farmer onboarding and digital platform deployment, Bartronics India Limited (BIL) has put its agritech strategy into real execution, completing its scheduled on-ground rollout in Maharashtra and laying the groundwork for growth into Uttar Pradesh.

Farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), cooperatives, traders, commission agents, logistics and warehouse operators, food processors, and last-mile rural service providers are among the stakeholders involved in the agricultural value chain that the company has engaged in 10 field engagement sessions over the last two weeks in key agricultural districts in Maharashtra.
Together, all of these networks provide access to several lakh farmers, and through associated FPOs, cooperatives, dealers, and rural intermediaries, they reach over a million farmers.
"The engagements reflect Bartronics India's platform-led approach, integrating farmers with market access, logistics, storage, and allied services rather than addressing farmer needs in isolation," said the company in a stock exchange filing.
Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director, Bartronics India Limited, said: "Our focus in Maharashtra has been on building a connected, ground-up agritech ecosystem rather than isolated interventions. The strong participation from farmers and ecosystem partners validates our platform approach, and this model is now being taken forward into Uttar Pradesh and other regions as part of our pan-India agritech strategy."
In order to ensure crop-specific relevance and multi-season application across regions, the farmer networks represented throughout the sessions cover a wide range of crops, such as onions, cashews, mangoes, wheat, jowar, and bajra. In accordance with its Memorandum of Understanding with Bartronics India, Ampivo AI took part in the sessions and performed a soft launch of their multilingual agritech application as part of the on-ground activation.
The application, which supports farmer onboarding, ecosystem participant mapping, and marketplace enablement across many stakeholder categories, is being released as the initiative's digital core.
The program is pan-India in scope, however Maharashtra represents the first stage of live execution. The company plans to begin the next phase of field activation and onboarding in Uttar Pradesh, where it has a strong operational presence, based on its experiences gained and traction in Maharashtra. This would be followed by a gradual rollout throughout more agricultural areas.
In order to develop a farmer-centric digital platform throughout India in an established, measurable, and sustainable way, Bartronics India is moving from pilot operations to authentic, multi-layer agritech execution.
Founded in 1990, Bartronics India Limited is a pioneering Indian IT firm that specializes in Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) solutions, including bar coding, biometrics, RFID, smart cards, and point-of-sale systems.
