The Tamil Nadu government is prioritising employee welfare, and Samsung has expressed readiness to address the demands of protesting workers at its Sriperumbudur plant. State Minister for Industries, TRB Rajaa, highlighted this on Friday amidst ongoing protests since September 9. Workers are demanding wage revisions and improved working conditions.

Samsung's legal team has urged workers to end the strike and engage in negotiations to resolve issues amicably. The company stated that it adheres to all Indian laws and regulations, providing statutory benefits and wages above government-prescribed levels for the electronics sector. Samsung considers the strike illegal as conciliation is ongoing, and the workers' union remains unregistered.
Samsung's Stance on Worker Demands
Samsung India management is open to direct negotiations with workers, aiming for a peaceful resolution. The company is willing to discuss issues with labour department authorities present and has shown interest in a long-term wage agreement. However, Samsung insists on negotiating only with its employees, not third parties like the Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU), which is leading the strike.
In a statement, Samsung reiterated its commitment to resolving differences amicably and requested workers to end the strike and return to work. The company emphasised its patience and willingness to negotiate directly with employees for a mutually beneficial solution.
