The prices of petrol and diesel across different cities and states in India remain steady on August 2, 2022, as per the latest notification issued by fuel retailers. The prices of both the fuel have been constant for over two months now. Meanwhile, price of WTI crude is recorded at $93.26 per barrel after a decline of 0.67% and price of Brent Crude is $99.29 per barrel after a dip of 0.74%.
When it comes to fuel prices in different cities in India, you need to pay Rs 96.72 per litre for petrol while the diesel is selling at Rs 89.62 per litre in Delhi. In Mumbai, the price of one litre of petrol is recorded at Rs 106.31 per litre and diesel price is available at Rs 94.27 per litre.
It is worth noting that the prices of petrol and diesel vary across different cities in India due to implementation of local taxes such as VAT and freight charges.
The public sector oil marketing companies that may include Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) update prices of fuel everyday keeping in line with benchmark global prices and foreign exchange rates. If any changes in the prices of petrol and diesel occur, it is implemented at 6 AM everyday.
