Top 5 Stocks Bought And Sold By Mutual Funds In January

In January, BSE's Sensex hit new record highs but following the outbreak of coronavirus towards the end of the month, gains were wiped out in equity markets around the globe.

 

In the last month, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 5,359.51 crore, however, domestic mutual fund inflows into equity schemes reached the highest in ten months to Rs 7,877 crore. In comparison, mutual fund inflows in December 2019 were Rs 4,499 crore.

According to ICICI Direct Securities data ascertained by CNBC-TV18, all categories of mutual funds experienced inflows in January, except contra fund category (outflows of Rs 735 crore) and dividend yield (Rs 63 crore).

Inflows into Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) touched a new all-time high of Rs 8,518 crore in January. According to the ICICI Direct report, the top most bought and sold stocks in the last month were:

Overall, the AUM (assets under management) of the mutual fund industry rose to 27.85 lakh crore in January, a 19 percent growth on a year-on-year basis and 5 percent month-on-month.

Largecap fund schemes received the highest net inflows of Rs 11,182 crore.
