Toxic Box Office Collection Day 4: Yash's Film Crosses Rs 225 Crore, Becomes 4th Highest-Grossing Kannada Film

Yash has returned to the big screen with a strong box-office showing as Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has recorded Rs 238.11 crore gross in India since hitting theatres on August 26, 2026, according to a CNBC-TV18 report. The film has already moved past the Rs 200 crore mark, giving the actor a notable theatrical comeback after KGF: Chapter 2.

The collection, however, needs to be viewed in the context of the film's reported scale. Toxic is said to have been made with a budget of more than Rs 500 crore, putting considerably higher expectations on its theatrical run. While crossing Rs 200 crore is a major milestone, the film will need sustained business across markets to make a strong case commercially.

Toxic Box Office Collection Day 4

The reported budget changes the way the film's box-office numbers are being assessed. A Rs 238.11 crore India gross may represent a sizeable achievement for many movies, but Toxic operates on a very different financial scale.

The amount collected at the ticket window is also not the same as the money returned to the producers. A portion of theatrical revenue goes towards exhibitors and distributors. The film's overall business will therefore be determined by its distributor share as well as earnings from overseas markets and post-theatrical rights.

Digital streaming, satellite television and music rights can provide additional revenue to a large production. This means the final financial outcome cannot be determined from the domestic gross alone.

Yash Returns to Theatres After KGF 2

The significance of Toxic goes beyond its opening numbers because it is Yash's first theatrical outing since KGF: Chapter 2. The KGF franchise established Yash as a major pan-India star, creating considerable expectations around his next project. The extended gap between releases made Toxic one of the more closely followed films of his career.

In the new film, Yash appears in the roles of Raya and Ticket. The project has been designed as a stylised action drama with a darker setting and an adult-oriented tone.

Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini, Huma and Others Add to Toxic's Star Power

The film has also brought together a multi-industry cast. Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi feature alongside Yash. Director Geetu Mohandas has also taken on a different kind of project with Toxic. Her association with a big-budget commercial action film has been one of the talking points surrounding the movie.
