The White House has disclosed that Donald Trump has a chronic but harmless vein condition, addressing media speculation about bruising. Trump's health remains stable with all test results normal, aiming to clarify ongoing discussions regarding his physical condition.
The White House has disclosed that Donald Trump has a chronic but harmless vein condition. This announcement follows speculation about bruising on his hand. After experiencing leg swelling, Trump underwent a medical examination, which revealed this new diagnosis. "I know that many in the media have been speculating about bruising on the president's hand and also swelling in the president's legs," stated Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for the White House.

Leavitt further explained that Trump's recent photos showed minor bruising on his hand. This is attributed to soft tissue irritation from frequent handshakes and aspirin use. "In the effort of transparency, the president wanted me to share a note from his physician ... all results were within normal limits," she added. The condition is benign and common among those over 70.
Speculation Over Trump's Health
Online discussions intensified after close-up images of Trump's hand appeared, showing noticeable bruising. The theory that frequent handshaking caused this was previously suggested but dismissed by some experts. Dr Neal H Patel from Providence St Joseph Hospital remarked, "I see a lot of patients who are businessmen, and I've never really seen them getting bruising from too much handshaking."
Trump's decision to make his health diagnosis public aims to address these speculations directly. The White House confirmed there is no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease. Despite online chatter, Leavitt clarified that Trump's health remains stable with all test results normal.
Medical Opinions on Bruising
Dr Patel expressed skepticism about handshaking causing such bruises, stating it wouldn't be among his initial considerations for the cause. "I guess it's possible, but that would really not be on my list of ideas of what causes it," he mentioned. This highlights differing opinions among medical professionals regarding the cause of Trump's bruising.
The clarification from the White House comes amid ongoing discussions about Trump's physical condition during public appearances like the FIFA World Cup photos. These images sparked concern over what some described as a 'disturbing' condition due to visible bruises.
The White House's transparency about Trump's health aims to quell rumours and provide clarity on his condition. While speculation continues, official statements assure that there are no serious underlying health issues affecting Trump at this time.
