East Potomac Golf Links redevelopment and major golf tournaments
In the social media post, Trump suggested the redesigned layout could meet top tournament standards. Trump wrote: "When completed, this Course will have the ability to host Major Golf Tournaments, including The U.S. Open, The Ryder Cup, The PGA Championship, and other top PGA Tour events,\". The message framed the project as a future venue.
The redevelopment plan is being challenged in court. The lawsuit is in U.S. District Court and covers the presidents course project. The visit happened while that case remains active. No further details about the legal claims were included in Trumps post.

Donald Trump meeting plan with Janeese Lewis George and Washington mayor race
In another post, Trump said a meeting was planned with Janeese Lewis George. Lewis George won the Democratic primary for Washingtons mayor. Trump in his post called Lewis George a Communist. At a news conference Thursday, Lewis George said cooperation was possible, but local authority mattered.
Lewis George said the next likely mayor would work with anyone for residents interests. Lewis George included the president in that list at the Thursday event. Lewis George also said there would be no advance compliance. Lewis George warned against requests that could weaken the locally elected government.
