Trump To Announce US Visa Curbs; H-1 B, , H-1B, H-2B, L-1 and J-1 To Be Impacted
As per agency reports, the US President Donald Trump will be announcing new visa curbs in some days. In a Fox News interview, an agency cited Trump as saying "We're going to be announcing something tomorrow or the next day on visas.
No details were however put but he said there will be still some exclusions. "You need them for big businesses where they have certain people that have been coming in for a long time, but very little exclusion and they're pretty tight," he said."And we may even go very tight for a period of time."
There was correspondence in a tweet though by John Roberts, chief White House correspondent of Fox News that said curbs will be for H-1B, H-2B, L-1 and J-1 visas.
H1 B visa is for skilled work such as engineering, IT and science while H2B is issued for hospitality and construction workforce.
L-1 visas is for personnels who work with large companies and J-1 is for research scholars, professors and other cultural and work-exchange programs.
Reportedly, an executive order will be signed for suspending visa all through the year as the country grapples with corona fall-out with high unemployment among US nationals. This would be a step towards curbing immigration. Also, there was seen a temporarily halt in issuance of green card in April.
