Twitter's Blue Bird Set Free, X Is Live Now; What Elon Musk Said On Rebranding

The blue bird on the top corner of your Twitter account was a familiar sight, an image that many have grown to cherish while sharing opinions and emotions through words on this giant social media platform. But that bird has now been set free! Because from Monday onward, billionaire Elon Musk has rebranded Twitter to 'X'. The headquarters of Twitter is shining with a big bold 'X', however, netizens have shown mixed reactions to the rebranding, some even asking for the bird to be brought back while many are excited with the new logo.

The wealthiest man in the world, Musk dramatically revealed Twitter's new logo in a series of tweets that started on July 23.

In the early morning of July 23, the Tesla CEO tweeted saying, "And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds." This had already surprised and shocked Twitteratis, many had the same questions though 'Twitter is rebranding?'.

But the wait was over on July 24th, when Musk tweeted a short clip of Twitter's transformation from the blue-bird to 'X'.

He further tweeted saying an image of Twitter headquarters shining with the 'X' logo.

Netizens have shown mixed reaction to the rebranding of Twitter.

A user named Figen said, "Elon, ofcourse, I respect your decisions. But 80% of the world's population is poor and Twitter is a public app. What percent of the world population is interested in NASA? Public are interested in simple things. It would have been more accurate to have at least TwitterX - TweetX." She added, "If you kill the bluebird, X will not live happily."

Another user agreed under the feed and said, "I agree. I've grown to love the bluebird. It seems friendly, whereas "X" sounds too mechanical, too inhuman. And inputs will no longer be "tweets," I guess. What will they be called? Contentions? Data input? Posits?."

Further, another user requested Musk to keep the bird logo.

While one Twitter account said, "This is my first Xpression. This is what I'm calling tweets in the new X Word. Writing this is to "Xpress". Feel free to offer me the usual brand realignment pot Elon."

Meanwhile, one user tweeted saying, "Out with the old, come in with the new. Let's GO, X!."
