India's student developer and data science community have a unique opportunity as , the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), in collaboration with the Government of India, has announced the UIDAI Data Hackathon 2026. The national-level online hackathon offers students a chance to work on real-world datasets linked to Aadhaar and win cash prizes of up to Rs. 2 lakh, along with certificates.

The UIDAI Hackathon 2026 is open to students across India and is expected to attract participation from engineering, data science, analytics, and technology streams.

Who Can Participate? Eligibility Criteria For Data Hackathon 2026

The UIDAI Hackathon 2026 is open to a wide range of students Including:

Any student enrolled in a recognised Indian university or institution
Minimum age: 18 years as on January 1, 2026
Participation can be individual or in teams
Team size: Up to 5 members, including the Team Lead
Teams are encouraged to be heterogeneous, with mixed skill sets
The Team Lead must submit student ID cards of all members during project submission
Individuals associated with UIDAI or NIC service delivery are not eligible
Each participant or team member can be part of only one team.

UIDAI Hackathon 2026 Prize Money Details

The hackathon comes with attractive cash rewards and certificates:
1st Prize: Rs. 2 lakh + Certificate
2nd Prize: Rs. 1.5 lakh + Certificate
3rd Prize: Rs. 75,000 + Certificate
4th Prize: Rs. 50,000 + Certificate
6th Prize: Rs. 25,000 + Certificate

All participants must register through JanParichay, the Government of India's single sign-on platform.
Once registered, students can log in and apply via the official event portal: https://event.data.gov.in

Step 1: Visit the challenge page:

Step 2: Click on "Login to Participate"
Step 3: You will be redirected to JanParichay
Step 4: Log in using, Username & password, or Mobile number & password, or Email ID & password
Step 5: After successful login, you'll be redirected back to the event portal

It should be noted that first-time users must sign up on JanParichay also the registration is primarily based on mobile number. After registration, update your email ID before logging into the event portal.
