The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organization behind India's Aadhaar initiative, has opened recruitment for officer-level positions, specifically aiming to fill vacancies for Deputy Director and Senior Accounts Officer. This recruitment drive is an opportunity for qualified officers from the central government, state governments, Union Territories, and other eligible bodies to apply for roles with salaries and benefits. The application deadline is December 24, so interested candidates should act quickly to meet the eligibility criteria and submit their applications.
Position Overview
UIDAI's officer-level roles are suited for experienced candidates who are currently in government positions or autonomous bodies and meet specific requirements. Let's take a closer look at the requirements and desirable qualifications for each role:

1. Deputy Director
Essential Requirements: Candidates should be officers from the Central government currently in equivalent positions within their parent department or have at least three years of regular service at Pay Matrix Level 10 under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), where the pay ranges from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500.
Alternatively, candidates can have five years of service at Pay Matrix Level 9 (Rs 53,100 - Rs 1,67,800) or six years at Pay Matrix Level 8 (Rs 47,600 - Rs 1,51,100).
Officers from state or Union Territory governments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), or autonomous organizations in equivalent roles are also eligible.
The candidate's age should be under 56 as of the application closing date.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in administration, human resources, finance, budgeting, vigilance, project implementation, policy planning, procurement, or e-governance is a plus. Candidates should be comfortable working in a computerized office environment.
2. Senior Accounts Officer
Essential Requirements: Candidates must be officers from the Central Government holding equivalent positions in their cadre or department, or have at least two years of regular service at Pay Matrix Level 9 under the 7th CPC (Rs 53,100 - Rs 1,67,800).
Alternatively, five years of regular service at Pay Matrix Level 8 (Rs 47,600 - Rs 1,51,100) is also acceptable.
Like the Deputy Director role, officers from state or UT governments, PSUs, or autonomous organizations are eligible, provided they have the necessary experience.
Desirable Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a background in finance, accounts, or budgeting, as these skills are crucial for managing UIDAI's fiscal responsibilities. Basic computer proficiency is also required.
Salary Structure and Benefits
Deputy Director: The monthly salary for this role ranges from Rs 67,700 to Rs 2,08,700, corresponding to Level-11 of the 7th Pay Commission. This salary range offers candidates a significant pay upgrade along with the responsibilities of managing administrative and operational tasks in UIDAI.
Senior Accounts Officer: This role offers a salary range between Rs 56,100 and Rs 1,77,500, as per Level-10 of the 7th CPC. Given the fiscal management focus of this position, this role is suited for candidates with experience in accounting and budgeting.
How to Apply?
Candidates who meet the criteria can access the application form on the official UIDAI website. Upon completion, they should send the form along with the required documents to the following address:
Director (HR),
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI),
Regional Office, 6th Floor, East Block,
Swarna Jayanti Complex, Near Mathruvanam,
Ameerpet, Hyderabad - 500038.
Key Selection Criteria and Process
UIDAI's selection process for these officer roles is based on the candidates' prior experience and qualifications, with no written test involved. This experience-based selection focuses on identifying candidates who can seamlessly transition into these roles, given their existing government or autonomous body experience.
Additional Selection Guidelines:
Preference will be given to officers who are already in similar positions within their current organization.
Once submitted, candidates cannot withdraw their applications.
Only candidates from government departments or autonomous bodies are eligible, making this an exclusive opportunity for those currently in public service.
Applicants should have a minimum of three years of remaining service as of December 24, 2024, to ensure long-term stability in the role.
Deputation Terms and Conditions
The appointment to UIDAI is on a deputation basis, with an initial tenure of five years. However, the parent organization may authorize a shorter term, provided it is not less than three years. This flexibility allows candidates to transition to UIDAI while also keeping the option to return to their home departments after their tenure.
Additional Benefits for UIDAI Officers
UIDAI offers medical benefits to its officers under the Medical Reimbursement Scheme. Alternatively, officers have the choice to continue availing of the medical benefits available in their parent organization, as long as it does not result in additional financial implications for UIDAI. Officers who are already enrolled in the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) through their current roles may retain this benefit when they join UIDAI.
This scheme of benefits allows officers to seamlessly continue receiving healthcare coverage while working in a new organization, ensuring minimal disruption to their medical and wellness needs.
Important Dates and Further Information
The deadline for submitting applications is December 24, 2024, so candidates are encouraged to gather their documents and complete the application process as soon as possible. For detailed guidelines, eligibility requirements, and application forms, applicants should visit UIDAI's official website, where the official UIDAI Recruitment 2024 notification is also available.
