Union Budget 2021: Aatmanirbhar Health Yojana With An Outlay Of Rs. 64180 Crore Announced

The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the budget said the Budget 2021 proposals are based on six pillars. These include Health and Well-Being, Physical and Financial capital and infrastructure, Inclusive Development for Aspirational India, Reinvigorating Human Capital, Innovation and R&D, and Minimum Government, and Maximum Governance.

And as part of the first of six pillars the Aatmanirbhar Health Yojana with an outlay of Rs 64,180 crore over six years has been introduced. This would strengthen the National Centre for Disease Control. Additionally, the government will also establish 15 health emergency centres.

Government of India will provide Rs 35,000 crore for Covid-19 vaccination in 2021-22; committed to providing more funds, says FM Nirmala Sitharaman.

In her budget speech, Sitharaman quoted Rabindranath Tagore and said "Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark".
