Budget 2024 Likely On July 24, Economic Survey A Day Prior: Report

The Monsoon Session of Parliament could begin on July 22, following the usual 15-day gap between sessions. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to present the full Budget for 2024-25 on July 24, with the Economic Survey potentially being tabled on July 23, according to a Financial Express report citing sources. However, the final decision on these dates has yet to be made and will likely be announced soon.

President Droupadi Murmu, in her address to the joint session of Parliament, stated that the first budget of Narendra Modi's third government would introduce far-reaching economic and social reforms for rapid development. She emphasized that poor, youth, women, and farmers are at the heart of policymaking and that this budget will include many historic steps to make India a developed nation.

Murmu added that a stable government with a clear majority is essential for India to achieve its goals and continue its progress towards becoming a developed nation. She described the upcoming budget as an effective document reflecting the government's far-reaching policies and futuristic vision, including major economic and social decisions.

On February 1, Sitharaman presented an interim Budget that did not include significant policy changes or concessions for the middle class. The final decision on the dates for presenting the full Budget and tabling the Economic Survey is expected to be announced soon.
