The Union Budget for 2026-26 has proposed increased funding for rural and agricultural sectors, highlighting the government's focus on villages and farmers, according to Haryana Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh. He praised the budget as a significant move towards a developed and self-reliant India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Union Budget 2026 Supports Villages and Farmers

The budget has been crafted with consideration for various groups, including villagers, the poor, farmers, youth, and women. The allocation for Rural Development Departments has risen by 21%. Combined, the budgets for Rural Development and Agriculture Ministries now surpass Rs 4.35 crores, demonstrating the government's dedication to these areas.

Support for Farmers

To aid farmers with affordable resources, a fertilizer subsidy of Rs 1,70,944 crore has been allocated. This measure aims to lower farming costs and provide direct benefits to farmers. The minister shared these insights at a farmers' conference on the Union Budget 2026 in Darbaripur village within the Badshahpur assembly constituency.

Minister Rao Narbir Singh noted that in a democracy, citizens assess government performance through elections every five years. He stated that the BJP government has consistently pursued development projects nationwide and in Haryana, with visible results today.

Engagement with Stakeholders

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini engaged directly with stakeholders across various districts in January. He gathered suggestions regarding the budget, which will be reviewed and potentially included. The Haryana Legislative Assembly's budget session is set to commence on February 20.

The minister expressed confidence that this budget will be historic by considering all societal segments. "The BJP government has continuously carried out development work in the country and the state," he said.
