“Union Budget 2026 takes a people-first step by exempting interest awarded by Motor Accident Claims Tribunals from income tax, ensuring accident victims receive their full compensation without erosion through TDS. This intent carries forward into the Budget’s broader focus on strengthening the financial sector and positioning AI as a growth multiplier, signalling a move towards a more transparent, efficient, and consumer-protective ecosystem.”

Union Budget 2026 Reaction By Lokendra Ranawat, Co-Founder & CEO, WoodenStreet
“The customs system which now operates with a warehouse operator-centric design creates a crucial turning point that improves supply chain performance. The introduction of self-declarations and electronic tracking together with risk-based audits helps us to establish a governance system which relies on trust instead of restrictive bureaucratic procedures. The target of a single digital window for cargo clearance by year-end is particularly promising; it will significantly reduce dwell times and streamline operations which will enable the retail sector to reach the speed required for modern commerce.”

Union Budget 2026 Reaction By Rahul Ghose, Founder and CEO, Octanom Tech and Hedged.in
“In India's 2026-27 Union Budget, there is evidence that the government is working hard to ensure technology and innovation will play a central role in the country becoming a leading and growing economy. One of the main areas where this is being demonstrated has been through significant investments into digital public infrastructure and AI-enabled governance frameworks. These investments have created a foundation upon which many emerging, innovative, and deep-tech companies are creating scalable and enterprise-class solutions.”

Union Budget 2026 Reaction By Avinash Ojha, Managing Director- RG Hospitals
The Budget 2026–27 masterfully lays the groundwork for a more inclusive and resilient healthcare system. The sharp focus on cost-effective treatments for chronic and autoimmune diseases, including subsidised biologics and generics via the ₹10,000 crore Bio Pharma Shakti mission, pivots towards a preventive-care paradigm through early diagnostics and lifestyle interventions.”

Union Budget 2026 Reaction By Pyush Lohia ,Director Lohia worldspace
“The government will spend money, ₹12.2 lakh crore on public projects. This should help get things done faster and make it easier to get around and finish projects on time. Feb 01, 2026, 6:11 pm IST
Union Budget 2026 Reaction By Pranay Aggarwal,Director and CEO of Stoxkart
“ The hike in Securities Transaction Tax (STT) and the opening up of direct equity investment routes for PROIs. The increase in STT on futures from 0.02% to 0.05%, along with a rise in options-related STT to 0.15%, will directly raise trading costs in the derivatives segment. This is likely to curb excessive speculative activity and could lead to lower volumes in the near term, particularly among high-frequency and short-term traders. As a result, markets may witness intermittent volatility and softer liquidity in F&O-heavy stocks. “
Feb 01, 2026, 6:08 pm IST

“Union Budget 2026 takes a meaningful step towards addressing India’s long-standing dependence on imported edible oils by shifting the focus to domestic oilseed productivity and resilience. “For the footwear sector, the proposed customs duty simplifications, duty-free imports of specified inputs for shoe uppers, and extended export timelines for leather, textile and footwear products are meaningful enablers. Feb 01, 2026, 5:36 pm IST
Union Budget 2026 Reaction by A R Ramachandran, part-time SEBI-registered Research Analyst, Tips2trades.
"Budget 2026 was very good for pharma and the IT sector with more incentives given for promoter buybacks but an increase in STT in futures and options has clearly dented market sentiment in the short term especially at a time when Indian stock markets have underperformed their global peers. An incentive for long term investors or a minor tax relief for FIIs could have impacted markets in a very positive way but broader markets could stay subdued to bearish in the near term with BSE Sensex having strong Daily resistance at 82730."

"This budget is a masterstroke for India’s digital future. The 100% tax holiday for data centers until 2047 is a '1,000-pound gorilla' move. This is similar to the 90s software boom all over again. The fine print is equally vital; widening the IT services definition finally provides transfer pricing certainty for GCCs, signalling to the world that India is open for high-end tech business," stated Raamdeo Agrawal, Chairman & Co-founder, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd,

Budget 2026 Live: Fiscal Prudent, Growth-Oriented Budget Is Desirable, Says Expert

Pre-Budget 2026 Expectations by Mr. Arun Patel, Founder & Partner at Arunasset Investment Services
The upcoming Budget should stay focused on supporting demand through a mix of targeted spending, a steady infrastructure push, and measures that help keep consumption on an even keel, without losing sight of fiscal discipline. A gradual move to bring the fiscal deficit down to around 4.2 percent of GDP, from about 4.4 percent earlier, fits well with the government’s broader effort to steadily reduce debt over the coming years.
With inflation easing sharply in recent months, the policy focus has naturally shifted away from price control toward demand support. CPI inflation was1.3 percent in December, far below expectations at the start of the year. The RBI’s FY25 inflation forecast has been cut steadily from about 4.2 percent to closer to 2 percent, underscoring the need for growth-oriented support.

Union Budget 2026 Live Expectations By Swati Jain, Director, The Banyan
“As India approaches the Union Budget 2026, it is important to recognise that early childhood education and corporate childcare are not peripheral welfare measures, but core economic enablers. We urge policymakers to consider targeted measures in the 2026 Budget such as enhanced tax incentives for employer-supported childcare, simplified compliance norms, and increased investment in early learning infrastructure. Supporting this sector will not only benefit working parents but also ensure better developmental outcomes for children during their most formative years.”

Union Budget 2026 Live Expectations By Ashish Singhal, Co-founder, CoinSwitch
“India’s VDA ecosystem is at a pivotal stage, with growing adoption across the country. However, the current tax framework presents challenges for retail participants by taxing transactions without recognising losses, creating friction rather than fairness. A reduction in TDS on VDA transactions from 1% to 0.01% could improve liquidity, ease compliance, and enhance transparency while preserving transaction traceability. Raising the TDS threshold to ₹5 lakh would help protect small investors from disproportionate impact.”

Union Budget 2026 Live Expectations By Dipanjan Banerjee, Chief Commercial Officer, Blue Dart
“Budget 2026 presents a timely opportunity to catalyse the next phase of efficiency-led growth across India’s logistics sector. With the foundations of PM Gati Shakti firmly in place, the priority now must shift toward seamless physical and digital integration across air, road, rail, and multimodal corridors. Reducing dwell times, simplifying customs, and enabling smoother intermodal transfers can materially lower operating friction and bring logistics costs closer to global benchmarks which is critical for India’s export ambitions.”

Union Budget 2026 Live Updates: Govt May Prioritise Strategy Over Big Announcements
“The Union Budget 2026 is expected to be a cautious, tightly balanced budget focused more on strategic prioritisation than big announcements. With tax revenues under pressure due to last year’s income-tax relief, the government’s major focus will be to fund rising needs, especially defence, renewable energy, and semiconductors. Instead of aggressive public spending, this year's budget will likely rely on a recovery in consumption and private investment to drive growth, while keeping overall capex growth moderate. Defence, green energy, urban infrastructure, and manufacturing will see clear preference, while health, education, and traditional infrastructure get only incremental increases..” said Gaurav Garg, Research Analyst at Lemonn Markets Desk
