Unitech Money Laundering; ED Attaches 3 Land Parcels Worth RS 106 Crore

In connection with the probe against Unitech Group, the Enforcement Directorate has provisionally attached three land plots in Gurugram worth Rs 106.08 crore. These properties were purchased from Unitech Group firms by two Chandras fake entities, M/s Erode Projects Pvt Limited and M/s Kore Communities Pvt Limited.

On the basis of multiple FIRs filed by homebuyers against Unitech Group and its promoters before Delhi Police, the ED launched a money laundering inquiry. As of today, the total proceeds of crime in this case are Rs 5063.05 crore.

According to the ED investigation, the above-mentioned parcels were purchased with proceeds of crime derived from a scheduled offence by M/s Erode Projects Pvt Limited and M/s Kore Communities Pvt Limited. Both of these businesses are managed by Unitech Group promoters, and proceeds of crime were transferred to them following extensive layering in Singapore and Cayman Island.

The Enforcement Directorate launched a search operation at 35 Shivalik Group, Trikar Group, Unitech Group, and Carnoustie Group locations in NCR and Mumbai on March 4th. The aforesaid diversion & stacking of POC has been discovered after study of confiscated records and various person's statements. Previously, the Enforcement Directorate had attached immovable properties worth Rs 431 crore belonging to the Trikar Group, Carnoustie Group, and Shivalik Group. The entire amount of attachment in this case now stands at Rs 537 crore (Approximately)
