Upcoming Indian Wedding Season Likely To Generate Rs 4.25 Trillion Business In Just 23 Days

From Dev Uthan Ekadashi on November 23 to December 15, according to estimates from the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), there would be a business worth Rs. 4.25 trillion in 23 days and around 35 lakh weddings.

Financial Express reports that the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) stated on Tuesday that the Delhi region may host 3.5 lakh weddings, bringing in Rs 1 lakh crore for the region. The statement was signed by the CAIT's National President BC Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal. In the previous year, over 35 lakh weddings occurred at this time, resulting in revenue of Rs 3.75 lakh crore.

"In Delhi alone, more than 3.5 lakh weddings are expected to take place in this season, which is likely to generate a business of about Rs 1 lakh crore in Delhi itself. Last year, around 32 lakh weddings took place in the same period and expenses were estimated at Rs 3.75 lakh crore," said B C Bhartia, National President, CAIT, as per a report from MoneyControl.

According to Bhartia and Khandelwal, over the 23 days of the wedding season, there will be roughly 6 lakh weddings with a projected cost of Rs 3 lakh per wedding and about 10 lakh weddings with an anticipated expense of Rs 6 lakh for each wedding. According to CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal, roughly 12 lakh weddings would cost around Rs 10 lakh, 6 lakh weddings are expected to cost Rs 25 lakh, 50,000 weddings will cost Rs 50 lakh, and 50,000 weddings are expected to have a budget of Rs 1 crore or more.

The upcoming phase of the wedding season will begin in the middle of January and last until July. Across the nation, including Delhi, banquet halls, hotels, open lawns, community centers, public parks, farmhouses, and many other sorts of venues for weddings are wholeheartedly geared up, according to Khandelwal.

According to the press release, the businesses include event management as well as tent decorators, flower decorators, crockery, catering, travel, cab, welcoming professional groups, vegetable vendors, photographers, photographers and videographers band-baja, shehnai, orchestra, DJ, horses for the procession, waggons, and lights.

The dates of November 23, 24, 27, 28, and 29 are considered auspicious for marriage ceremonies, followed by December 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9 and 15. This is according to Acharya Durgesh Tare, Chairman of CAIT's Spiritual and Vedic Knowledge Committee. Prior to Raksha Bandhan, CAIT estimated that traders would generate about Rs 3 lakh crore in revenue during the festive season till Diwali.
