US-India partnership on quantum computing and supply chains, says Sarah Rogers
US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers said India is a trusted US partner on quantum computing and supply chains. Speaking during a regional visit, she pointed to the Transforming the Relationship Utilising Strategic Technology (TRUST) initiative and discussions linked to Quad exchanges on fibre optic cables and other critical technology work.
India remained a key and reliable US partner in areas such as quantum computing and supply chains, US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers said on Tuesday. Rogers made the remarks during an online media interaction from Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. The comments came during Rogers’ multi-country trip focused on technology and regional priorities.

Rogers travelled to India, Nepal, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to advance commercial diplomacy, cultural preservation, digital freedom, and innovation. The visit followed recent US engagement with partners in South and Central Asia. Rogers linked India-US work in technology to Washington’s goals for the wider region, and pointed to ongoing cooperation as a practical example.
India-US TRUST initiative and quantum computing
"India is one of our trusted partners on things like quantum computing and supply chains, and I think that is an example of a concrete implementation of the Trump administrations priorities in South and Central Asia,\" Rogers said. Rogers added that India and the US shared several areas where technology interests aligned, with a focus on applied cooperation.
Rogers visited New Delhi last month and spoke at the Indian Institute of Technology IIT Delhi. The talk focused on the Transforming the Relationship Utilising Strategic Technology TRUST initiative. Rogers described the initiative as one among several outcomes tied to broader objectives. \"I think this TRUST is one of many concrete deliverables that advance some of our really important strategic interests in the region,\" Rogers said.
India-US Quad framework, supply chains and fibre optic cables
Rogers said discussions also covered critical infrastructure projects through the Quad framework. Rogers met some exchange participants and spoke about fibre optic cables and other technology work across the region. Rogers’ India trip took place soon after the Quad foreign ministers meeting. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio attended that meeting on May 24.
Rogers said technology cooperation reflected the scale of India’s digital economy and business ties. \"India is a giant tech market, and weve seen a lot of productive symbiosis between American and Indian companies and entrepreneurs,\" Rogers said. Rogers also pointed to multiple channels for joint work. \"One line of collaboration that I actually mentioned in my opening remarks is the TRUST initiative. I think were seeing productive collaboration through the plot as well, and I am confident that there will be future productive lines of collaboration on tech,\" Rogers said.
