Uttarakhand Summit Marks New Development Phase, CM Dhami Vows Completion
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami celebrated the success of the Global Investors Summit, highlighting investment agreements worth over Rs. 3.52 lakh crore and pledging to prioritize job-generating projects.
Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his elation over the successful conclusion of the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit and highlighted the significance of the agreements signed during the event. Addressing a gathering at the Forest Research Institute (FRI), where the two-day summit was held, Dhami emphasized that these agreements mark the beginning of a new era in the state's development journey.

Investment Target Surpassed
The chief minister revealed that he had set an ambitious target of attracting investments worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore through the summit. However, the actual investment commitments secured surpassed expectations, with MoUs worth over Rs 3.5 lakh crore signed across various sectors, including energy, manufacturing, and services. Dhami attributed this success to the positive atmosphere prevailing in the country under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose inspiration and support were instrumental in the event's triumph.
Employment Generation and State Development
Dhami emphasized the government's priority to prioritize the implementation of investment MoUs that have the potential to generate maximum employment opportunities for local residents. He expressed his commitment to transforming Uttarakhand into a leading state by the time it celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025. Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Dhami expressed confidence in the state's strengths and the determination to overcome obstacles.
Significant Steps Taken During Dhami's Tenure
The chief minister highlighted several significant steps taken during his tenure, which he believes are unprecedented in the state's 23-year history. These include the enactment of stringent anti-conversion and anti-copying laws, decisive action against land and love jihad, progress towards implementing a Uniform Civil Code, and the provision of 30% horizontal reservation for Uttarakhand women in government jobs. Dhami also announced the upcoming introduction of a Uniform Civil Code, with the government set to receive a draft and begin working on its implementation promptly.
Vikas Pustika Released and Media Appreciated
During the event, Dhami released a Vikas Pustika, a compilation of the development initiatives undertaken by his government. He also commended the media for playing a crucial role in maintaining the morale of the families of trapped workers during the Silkyara tunnel rescue operation.
