The state-run Central Bank of India has introduced a special deposit scheme to encourage citizens to get Covid-19 vaccinations. Those who get vaccinated will get an additional interest rate of 25 basis points above the applicable card rate.
The 'Immune India Deposit Scheme' has a 1,111-day maturity and is only available for a limited time. Senior citizens are also eligible for special interest rates.
With 1.61 lakh new cases, the country set a new coronavirus infection record. In terms of vaccination, the total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses given out in the country has surpassed 10.45 crore.
To stop the virus from spreading, the public-sector bank has been advocating for people to obey the Covid-19 protection guidelines of social distancing and wearing face masks.
"To encourage Vaccination under COVID 19, Central Bank of India launches Special Deposit Product "Immune India Deposit Scheme" for 1111 days at an attractive extra Interest rate of 25 basis points above the applicable card rate for Citizens who got Vaccinated," the bank said in a tweet.

How to book a Fixed Deposit Online in the Central Bank of India?
Step 1: Login Central Bank of India using credentials
Step 2: Click on 'Online Term Deposit' tab
Step 3: Select the type of FD
Step 3: Fill in required details
Step 4:Click 'Confirm'
When the deposit is successfully booked, a confirmation message will appear. The FD application form can be downloaded online, filled out, and then sent to the bank branch. Aside from internet banking and visiting a branch, mobile banking can be used to open a savings account.

The Central Bank of India offers interest rates ranging from 2.75 percent to 5.1 percent on FDs with maturities ranging from 7 days to 10 years. These prices will take effect on January 8, 2021.
