What is Varalakshmi Vratham? Understanding Its Rituals & Significance
Varalakshmi Vratham is more than just a ritual—it's a celebration deeply rooted in devotion, tradition, and the spirit of abundance. To truly appreciate its significance, it's important to explore the spiritual beliefs and customs that surround it, as per the CaratLane blog.
Further, as per the blog, married women observe Varalakshmi Vratham to seek the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity, fertility, good health, and harmony within their households. The vratam invokes the grace of Ashta Lakshmi-the eight manifestations of the Goddess, each representing different aspects of wealth such as courage, success, progeny, and wisdom. The festival is mainly celebrated in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. While the essence remains the same, the way the Kalash is decorated, the order of prayers, and the types of naivedyam prepared can vary significantly during the Varalakshmi Pooja.
