Varalakshmi or Varamahalakshmi festival is being celebrated with great joy on August 8, 2025, an auspicious occasion for married women across the country. However, the festival is strongly celebrated in South India. Varalakshmi is to honour goddess Lakshmi, who is known for granting boons like prosperity and wealth.
On this special occasion, here are a few details of puja Muhurat time, rituals and significances to add to your joy during the festival.

Varalakshmi 2025 Significance:
Varalakshmi Vratham is a religious observance and hence has a divine and spiritual significance for the Hindus and those who believe deeply in the benevolence of Goddess Lakshmi. Varalakshmi is a form of Mahalakshmi and quite literally translates into' Lakshmi who grants boons," as per the Caleidoscope website.
Born from the Kshir Sagar, she symbolises abundance, prosperity and purity. Devotees believe that Lakshmi brings happiness, wealth and fulfilment of desires. On Varalakshmi Vratnam, devotees worship the Ashta Lakshmis - Saraswati (Learning), Bhu (Earth), Sir (Wealth), Kriti (Fame), Priti (Love), Pushti (Strength), Tushti (Pleasure) and Shanti (Peace).
