While the petrol and diesel rates have been held steady today (August 26, 2020). The government of Puducherry has slashed the Value Added Tax or VAT on petrol by 3%.
The decision has been taken in a meet of the territorial cabinet chaired by the CM N Rangasamy and was approved by Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, said an official press release here.
With the cut, the price of petrol would be reduced by Rs 2.43 per litre in Puducherry and Karaikal regions.
