Vedanta Demerger Update: When Will New Entities List On NSE, BSE?

Vedanta demerged entities will start trading at exchanges at 10 am on Monday, June 15. Investors who were eligible for the Vedanta demerger can already see the four new entities on their demat accounts and trading applications. But their share price will be updated tomorrow after listing at 10 am.

Vedanta Demerged Entities Listing: What Will Happen During Price Discovery Session?

Nearly an hour before the listing of four new Vedanta entities, there will be a price discovery session for Vedanta Aluminium Metal, Vedanta Iron & Steel, Vedanta Power, and Vedanta Oil & Gas. The price discovery session will start at 9 am and end at 10 am.

During the special session, there will be an 'Order entry period', an 'order matching and trade confirmation period', and 'buffer period'.

What Happens During Price Discovery Session?

Price discovery session, also known as 'Special pre-open session' is applicable to IPOs, re-listed securities and on stocks after corporate restructuring, as per NSE.

The first phase includes order entry, modification and cancellation and starts at 9 am and ends at 9:45 am. The second phase, ie Order Machine and Trade Confirmation, starts at 9:45 am and ends at 9:55 am. It includes opening price determination, order matching and trade confirmation. The five-minute 'Buffer Period' marks the end of the price discovery session at 10 am. The buffer period allows a smooth transition from pre-open to the normal market.

Vedanta demerger came into effect on May 1, 2026. Vedanta share price started trading their ex-demerger date from April 30 (as April 31 and May 1 were stock market holiday). Vedanta demerge has been executed in the ratio of 1:1, which means that investors who are holding the Vedanta stock before April 30, have received one share of each of these four companies for every share they own.
