Vedanta Power Share Price Outlook
Despite one-time loss and short-term operational setback, Vedanta's long-term business model remained solid during the quarter under review. It is backed by 74% long-term power purchase contracts (3,080 MW), 85% secured domestic coal linkages, a strong cash position of Rs 1,130 crore, and upgraded credit ratings. The company's management expects the Sakti Unit 1 revival to be completed in Q2 FY27 and the new ~600 MW Unit 2 expansion to come online by Q4 FY27 to restore profit momentum.
"From a technical chart perspective, the stock price has experienced a significant decline after reaching its high near the ₹50 mark. The chart shows a clear downward trend, with the stock falling below its short-term moving average (the 20 TEMA around Rs 37.93) to trade near Rs 33.82. High trading volumes during the sell-off suggest that larger market participants booked profits after the peak," stated Mayank Jain, Market Analyst, Share.Market by PhonePe.
Vedanta Power Share Price Outlook: What Should Investors Do?
For retail investors, Mayank Jain highlights investors to avoid "catching a falling knife". "Purchasing a stock simply because it looks "cheap" after dropping from its high can be very risky while the price is still actively sliding downward," he stated.
"The smartest strategy for retail investors at this moment is to wait and watch. Instead of jumping in too early, wait until the price stabilises and forms a clear technical reversal pattern-such as establishing a firm support base or breaking back above moving averages on strong buying volume," the expert added.
