Vedanta Stocks Today: Hindustan Zinc, Vedanta Power, Aluminium & Iron-Steel Shares in Focus After Q2 Updates
Vedanta Group stocks are in focus on Monday, October 5, after multiple group companies reported their business updates for the June-September quarter.
The high points of the update were: Hindustan Zinc reported higher mined and refined metal production, Vedanta Power posted a 26% year-on-year jump in power sales, while Vedanta Aluminium Metal achieved its highest-ever quarterly aluminium production. Vedanta Oil & Gas, however, reported a decline in production during the quarter.

Hindustan Zinc Shares Today
Hindustan Zinc shares were trading higher on Monday, gaining around 1.68% to Rs. 564.35 in morning trade
As per the company;s exchange filing, The zinc producer reported a 5% YoY increase in mined metal production to 271 kilotonnes (KT) in Q2 FY27, compared with 258 KT in the year-ago period. At the same time, refined metal production rose 7% YoY to 264 KT, from 246 KT in Q2 FY26.
Vedanta Power Shares Today
Vedanta Power shares were also in focus, trading around 0.58% higher at Rs,. 32.96 during at the time of writing
The company reported a 26% YoY increase in power sales to 5,593 million units (MU) in Q2 FY27, compared with 4,433 MU in the corresponding quarter last year. For the first half of FY27, power sales increased 32% YoY to 10,817 MU.
Vedanta Iron and Steel Shares Today
Shares of Vedanta Iron and Steel were trading lower at around Rs. 31.03 per share, down by 0.45% at the time of writing.
The firm informed the exchanges said that its saleable ore production declined 13% YoY, while steel production increased 4% and hot metal production rose 3% during Q2 FY27. Production from Goa mines increased 22% YoY, supported by the ramp-up of mining operations and enhanced processing capacity. However, Karnataka mine production declined 49% YoY, in line with the company's revised estimates and updated mine plan.
Vedanta Aluminium Metal Shares
Vedanta Aluminium Metal shares were trading at Rs. 401.55, down around 0.30% in early trade.
The company reported its highest-ever quarterly aluminium production of 649 KT in Q2 FY27. Half-yearly aluminium production also reached a record 1,281 KT.
JM Financial has given Vedanta Aluminium Metal a Buy rating and a target price of Rs. 560, citing higher volumes, improving cost efficiencies and stronger free cash flow generation over the next three years.
The brokerage in its note mentioned, "EBITDA to compound at around 21% and earnings at nearly 27% over FY26-29E."
Vedanta Oil & Gas
Despite a strong performance by other sister firms, Vedanta Oil & Gas reported a weaker operational performance in Q2 FY27. As per the exchange filing, the Average daily gross operated production declined 19% YoY to 72.2 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (kboepd), compared with 89.1 kboepd in the year-ago quarter. Average daily working-interest production also fell 18% YoY to 47.8 kboepd.
This morning, the Vedanta Oil & Gas shares are trading at Rs. 31.71, down around 0.84% in morning trade.
Post-demerger repricing
Vedanta went ex-demerger on Apr 30, with a 1:1 entitlement in Vedanta Aluminium Metal, Vedanta Power, Vedanta Oil and Gas, and Vedanta Iron and Steel. The four were listed on June 15. The residual Vedanta now houses Zinc India (Hindustan Zinc), Zinc International, Copper, and Ferro Chrome. Group stocks are now valued separately, and the whole group is weak: Vedanta Iron & Steel is down about 18.5%, and Vedanta Power is down 12.6% over the past month.
