Jeet Adani announced that Vidarbha is poised to become a new centre for energy and industry. Strong leadership and infrastructure are key to this transformation, making it an attractive investment destination.
Jeet Adani, Director of Airports at Adani Group, highlighted the potential of Maharashtra's Vidarbha region to become a key centre for energy, industry, and employment. Speaking at the Advantage Vidarbha 2026 Business Conclave and Investment Summit in Nagpur, he emphasised the area's readiness to transform into a new development hub.

The region's historical significance as a centre of knowledge and culture is now being leveraged for economic growth. Nagpur is evolving into a significant hub for logistics, energy, aviation, and technology. Jeet Adani attributed this transformation to strong leadership, modern infrastructure, and effective collaboration between industry and government.
Infrastructure and Energy Initiatives
Adani praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for their focus on infrastructure and connectivity. Their efforts have made Vidarbha an appealing destination for investors. The Adani Group's initiatives in the region are contributing significantly to Maharashtra's energy security.
The group's 3,300 MW supercritical thermal power plant at Tiroda and the revival of the 600 MW project at Butibori are pivotal. These projects ensure a stable supply of 6,600 MW of electricity through solar and thermal energy under a 25-year power purchase agreement.
Future Projects and Employment Opportunities
A proposed Rs 70,000 crore integrated coal gasification complex at Linga in Kalmeshwar is set to create 30,000 direct jobs. This project will position Nagpur on the global stage for clean energy and advanced chemical industries. Such developments are expected to boost the local economy significantly.
Jeet Adani also highlighted the Gondkhairi underground mining project as an example of sustainable mining practices. This project prioritises minimal land use, zero displacement, and water conservation, showcasing responsible environmental stewardship.
The ongoing developments in Vidarbha reflect a strategic approach to harnessing its potential. With continued investment in infrastructure and energy projects, the region is poised for substantial growth. The collaborative efforts between government and industry are paving the way for Vidarbha to emerge as a major economic powerhouse.
