Security Tight As Vijay’s Vellore Campaign Event Capped At 4,900 Participants

The Vellore district administrators meeting led by Vijay outlines campaign strategy, security protocols, health and crowd management, QR coded passes, and logistics to support a sustained political programme in Tamil Nadu.

The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay is addressing a major district administrators’ meeting and election campaign in Vellore district on 23 February 2026. The event is drawing attention in Tamil Nadu politics because Vijay is expected to outline the party’s next steps and campaign approach directly to key functionaries.

The meeting is being held near Pallikonda, in the Agaramseri area, on a ground of around 33 acres close to the Chennai–Bengaluru National Highway. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has asked people without valid permission to avoid travelling to the site and instead watch the programme through live coverage.

Vijay Vellore meeting election campaign security and crowd control

Police have framed more than 20 conditions for the Vellore event and security work is in full swing. About 900 police personnel are deployed so that traffic on the national highway remains smooth when Vijay travels by road from Chennai to Vellore and while the gathering takes place near Agaramseri.

Officers have barred certain groups from attending for safety reasons. Permission passes have not been issued to pregnant women, young children, school students, elderly people and those with serious health issues. Entry to the ground is therefore restricted to selected party administrators and functionaries cleared under the police guidelines.

Vijay Vellore meeting election campaign entry and facilities

The party has limited participation to about 4,900 administrators for this Vellore district meeting. Special entry passes with QR codes have been issued to them. Party general secretary Bussy Anand has made it clear that people without these QR-coded passes will not be allowed inside the ground at any point.

The meeting runs from 12 noon to 4 p.m., so arrangements for drinking water have been treated as essential. Organisers have kept 50,000 water bottles ready, along with water tanks holding a total capacity of 6,000 litres, to ensure that everyone present can access drinking water without interruption during the long afternoon session.

Vijay Vellore meeting election campaign health and volunteer deployment

Health support has been strengthened at the venue to handle any emergencies. Ten medical teams, including 30 doctors and 100 nurses, will be on duty at the ground. Fifteen ambulances are stationed there as well, so that anyone needing urgent treatment can be moved quickly to nearby hospitals if required.

Around 500 volunteers, trained by retired police officers, are managing crowd control inside the 33-acre site. Police have warned that party supporters must not follow Vijay’s vehicle on two-wheelers from Chennai to Vellore. This restriction is meant to prevent congestion and accidents on the national highway route during the leader’s road journey.

Vijay Vellore meeting election campaign agenda and arrangements

Lessons from a previous Salem meeting have shaped the physical setup at Vellore. That earlier event saw heat-related problems. So, this time, the entire seating area for district administrators has been covered with a large shamiana structure, giving shade and providing more comfortable seating for the hours-long political discussion.

Media have a separate space to reduce crowding, and live telecast facilities are in place so the proceedings can reach people outside the venue. In the meeting, party structure from village to city level, membership drives, youth and women’s wings, and coordinated election strategies are to be discussed in detail with district administrators.

Vijay is expected to give direct guidance to district administrators on campaign plans and coordinated election work. The address is also seen as a chance to motivate party workers before the coming polls. These factors together have made the Vellore district administrators’ meeting a closely watched event in the current Tamil Nadu political scene.
