Vijaypat Singhania Dismisses Reconciliation Speculations with Son Gautam

In a recent development that has caught the attention of the media, Raymond patriarch Vijaypat Singhania dismissed any possibility of reconciliation with his son, Gautam Singhania. This statement came after a social media post by Gautam, featuring a photograph of the two, led to speculation about them mending their long-standing rift. Vijaypat clarified his stance through a video message, stating his visit was under pretense and not an attempt at resolving their differences.

No Reconciliation Between Singhania Family

On March 20, Gautam Singhania shared an image on the platform ‘X’ with his father, captioning it with words that suggested a familial reunion. However, Vijaypat's response revealed a different narrative. He recounted how he was persuaded to meet Gautam under the guise of a brief coffee meeting, which he later regretted upon realizing its intended purpose for media misrepresentation.

The dispute between Vijaypat and Gautam Singhania is not new to the public eye. The conflict primarily revolves around property and the legacy of Raymond Ltd, a brand synonymous with quality textiles and apparel in India. Vijaypat Singhania, who once helmed Raymond Ltd and significantly contributed to its success, transferred his entire stake in the company to Gautam in 2015. This decision, worth approximately Rs 1,000 crore at the time, later became a source of regret for Vijaypat.

The family's internal disagreements took a legal turn when Vijaypat sought possession of a duplex in JK House on Malabar Hill through the Bombay High Court in 2017. This property dispute highlighted the strained relationship between father and son, further complicated by business and familial ties.

In addition to their personal and professional disagreements, Gautam Singhania's recent announcement of his separation from his wife Nawaz Modi Singhania after 32 years adds another layer to the family's complex dynamics. The settlement discussions reportedly involve a significant portion of Gautam's net worth, estimated at USD 1.4 billion, for Nawaz and their two daughters.

This ongoing saga within one of India's prominent business families continues to unfold, with each development adding to the intricate history between its members. Despite public appearances and social media posts suggesting otherwise, the rift between Vijaypat and Gautam Singhania appears far from healed.
