Vodafone Idea Q4 Results: Vodafone Idea Limited, one of India's key telecom operators announced its financial results for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2025, on Friday. The company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 7,166.1 crore for the January-March 2025 period. Although this is still a major loss, it has reduced slightly compared to the Rs 7,674.6 crore loss the company reported in the same quarter last year. This shows a small but positive step toward financial improvement.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose to Rs 11,010 crore, which is a 3.8% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was supported by better performance in its services and gradual recovery in its customer base. Vodafone Idea also shared that its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at Rs 4,660 crore for the quarter. The company's cash EBITDA was Rs 2,320 crore, showing a 6.5% growth from the previous year.

Akshaya Moondra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vodafone Idea Limited said while announing earnings call, "This has been a turnaround quarter for us, marked by the highest average daily revenue in the past 5 years and a significant reduction in subscriber loss. Early indicators show improvement across key business metrics and with our ongoing investments, we are well placed to effectively participate in the growth opportunity offered by the Industry."

For the entire financial year, Vodafone Idea saw steady improvement. The total revenue for FY25 grew by 2.2%, rising from Rs 42,650 crore in FY24 to Rs 43,570 crore. Similarly, the company's annual cash EBITDA (excluding lease accounting changes) also went up by 9.5%, increasing from Rs 8,400 crore to Rs 9,200 crore. This marks the third consecutive year of growth in both revenue and cash EBITDA, despite ongoing challenges like high debt and tough competition.

Vodafone Idea ARPU

Vodafone Idea's average revenue per user (ARPU), which is a key measure of how much the company earns from each customer, increased to Rs 175 in the fourth quarter of FY25. This is compared to Rs 153 in the same quarter last year, showing a 14.2% year-on-year growth. This improvement means the company is earning more per customer, which is a positive sign for its overall financial health. The ARPU figure does not include machine-to-machine (M2M) connections, focusing only on regular mobile users.

Vodafone Idea Capex FY25

Vodafone Idea spent Rs 4,230 crore on capital expenditure (capex) which is the highest amount the company has invested in any single quarter since its merger. This large spending shows that the company is focusing on improving and expanding its network and infrastructure. For the full year (FY25), the total capex reached Rs 9,570 crore.

On the financial side, Vodafone Idea was able to reduce its debt from banks, bringing it down from Rs 4,040 crore in March 2024 to Rs 2,330 crore in March 2025. This indicates progress in managing its financial obligations. Additionally, the company had a healthy cash and bank balance of Rs 9,930 crore as of March 31, 2025.

Vodafone Idea Fundraising 2025

Vodafone Idea has announced that its board has approved a plan to raise up to Rs 20,000 crore. This money will help the company improve its financial position and invest in its network and services.

The board has given the responsibility to the Capital Raising Committee, which will now look into the best way to raise this money. They will decide whether to do it through shares, loans, or other financial options, and will handle all the related steps and decisions.

"We are also pleased to announce that our 5G services are now available in cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh and Patna. Our expansion efforts are underway to offer 5G services in the key geographies of all 17 circles where we have 5G spectrum by August 2025. We also welcome the government's decision for conversion of Rs. 369.5 billion spectrum dues to equity. We remain engaged with lenders to secure debt financing to support our broader capex plans of Rs. 500-550 billion, " the telecom company's CEO said.
