Voltbek Home Appliances growth and market conditions
While speaking to shareholders, Voltas Managing Director Mukundan Menon described market conditions as muted. Menon said, "Despite a subdued market environment, the business recorded a healthy growth of 12 per cent over 2024-25 and further strengthened its presence across categories and markets,\". Menon also said profitability remained a key priority for the venture. Voltas presented the remarks alongside performance details.
Menon outlined steps aimed at improving financial performance in the coming periods. Menon said, \"Our efforts are directed towards improving price realisation, deepening localisation, optimising logistics, strengthening portfolio mix and building greater operating leverage through scale,\". Voltas indicated that these measures were central to addressing earnings pressure. The focus remained on scale and operational changes.
Voltbek Home Appliances market share and category position
Voltas said Voltbek improved its standing in several appliance segments during FY26. In refrigerators, volume share rose from 5.5 per cent to 6.1 per cent. In washing machines, market share by volume stayed flat at 8.6 per cent. Menon said Voltbek held its No. 2 position in semi-automatic washing machines.
Menon said the business supported Voltas’ longer-term plans in home appliances. Menon added that it \"continued to play an important role in our long-term ambition of building a scaled and diversified home appliances business.\". Voltas framed the update as part of a wider category strategy. The company pointed to expansion across categories and markets.
Voltbek Home Appliances operations, products and profitability
Voltbek was set up in 2018 as a joint venture between Voltas and Turkish firm Arcelik. The company operated across refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, dishwashers, and small domestic appliances. Voltbek also ran a manufacturing unit at Sanand, near Ahmedabad. Voltas said the portfolio continued to expand in small appliances.
Voltas said the venture still operated below the scale needed for sustained profits. The company said it needed continued improvement in product mix, operating leverage, and cost structure. Voltas stated these changes were required to meet its financial objectives. The annual report also highlighted profitability as an ongoing area of focus.
