Weather Today, November 5, 2026: IMD Predicts Light To Moderate Rains In Five South Cities; Check AQI Too

The IMD has predicted a cloudy skies with the likelihood of rain or thunderstorms in some five southern cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Amaravati, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram amidst Cyclone Murasu, which has weakened near the Bay of Bengal. Notably, the air quality of these five cities is also between good and satisfactory on November 5, 2026.

Bengaluru Weather Today, November 5, 2026:

IMD predicts heavy rains or thunderous showers with gusty wind (30-40 km/h) at one or two places over the Chamarajanagara, Kodagu, and Mysuru districts.

However, it predicts light to moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty wind (30-40 km/h) likely to occur at a few places over Mandya, Ramanagara, Hassan, Bengaluru (Rural), Bengaluru (Urban), Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga in the Kolar districts.

The light to moderate rain conditions are expected to continue on November 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th as well.

As per the AccuWeather report, currently, sun and some clouds with a thunderstorm in parts of Bengaluru is experienced. The temperature is 21 degrees Celsius. The evening is expected to witness a thunderstorm.

Amaravati Weather Today:

This city is expected to witness light rain or drizzle with temperatures ranging from a low of 24°C and a high of 31°C.

For Thursday, IMD believes that squally winds with speeds reaching 40-50 Kmph gusting to 60Kmph likely at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam & Rayalaseema.

For Amaravati, IMD said, a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers is likely. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 31°c and 24°c respectively.

Chennai Weather Today

Chennai is also likely to witness light to moderate rain, with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur in some areas. The minimum temperature could range between 25 and 26°C, while the maximum temperature could range from 32 to 33°C.

Hyderabad Weather Today

Since Cyclone Murasu has weakened, there are no alarming warnings for Hyderabad on November 5. The weather of the city is expected to be generally cloudy with a probability of rain, thunderstorms or either dust storm is one or two locations. The temperature could range from a low of 23°C to a high of 33°C.

Thiruvananthapuram Weather Today

IMD predicts a partly cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershowers for Thiruvananthapuram and neighbouring regions. The minimum temperature is most likely to be around 25°C.

The northeast monsoon has been weak over Kerala. Rain occurred at a few places in Kerala and Lakshadweep. The chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are : Ranni AWS (Pathanamthitta district) 5, Myladumpara & Peerumedu (both in Idukki district) 4 each, Kuppady (Wayanad district) 3, Konni & Kurudamannil (both in Pathanamthitta district), Kanjirappally & Kumarakom (both in Kottayam district), Aluva & Aluva AWS (both in Ernakulam district), Munakkal AWS (Thrissur district) & Kuppadi AWS (Wayanad district) 2 each and Thiruvananthapuram Airport, Kottayam, Ambalavayal (Wayanad district), Thattathumala AWS (Thiruvananthapuram district), Paripalli AWS (Kollam district), Vellathooval AWS & Meencut AWS (both in Idukki district), Chemberi AWS (Kannur district) & Panathur AWS (Kasargod district) 1 each, as per IMD.

Bengaluru Air Quality (AQI) vs Chennai Air Quality (AQI) vs Hyderabad AQI vs Thiruvananthapuram AQI vs Amaravati AQI:

As per the Central Pollution Control Board live tracker, the AQI of Bengaluru is satisfactory at 63. Stations like Bapuji Nagar, Hebbal, Hombegowda Nagar, Jayanagar 5th Block, and Silk Board witnessed an AQI of 47, 59, 71, 59, and 52 -- which is also satisfactory.

The AQI of Chennai is also satisfactory at 98. However, Thiruvananthapuram AQI tops Chennai and Bengaluru to 46 which is good and cleaner.

Meanwhile, the Amaravati AQI is even better at 18.

Lastly, the AQI of Hyderabad is satisfactory at 54.
