The BHIM UPI Full Circle Delegation is one of the newest features launched by NPCI BHIM Services Limited to make digital payments easier and more accessible for all users. This new feature allows a primary UPI user to authorise a trusted secondary user, such as a family member, child, employee, or caregiver, to make UPI payments from the primary user's bank account within a set monthly limit.

In simple words, it gives you the power to let someone else make small payments on your behalf securely, without sharing your UPI PIN or bank details. The feature is extremely useful for senior citizens, young adults, and even small business setups where payments need to be delegated in a controlled manner.
What Is BHIM UPI Full Circle Delegation?
BHIM UPI Full Circle Delegation lets a primary user grant permission to a secondary trusted person to make UPI payments directly from their bank account with a preset limit of up to Rs. 15,000 per month.
You can choose who can make the payments, how much they can spend and for how long; the maximum time limit is up to 5 years. All transactions done by the secondary user are visible to the primary user, with transparency and full control.
This feature helps families and small businesses manage shared expenses smoothly without using cash or giving full bank access to others.
According to NPCI, India still relies heavily on cash, especially for small daily expenses. Many people who do not have a bank account, or who are not comfortable using digital payments, depend on others to make UPI transactions on their behalf.
The corporation in its release, also mentioned that many households have one person managing finances. About 6% of UPI users make payments for others frequently. So, BHIM UPI Full Circle Delegation will be able to solve these problems without compromising safety.
Who Is the Primary User? Who Is the Secondary User?
Primary User: The account holder who has the UPI-linked bank account. It is also the person who sets the limits, gives permissio,n and monitors the delegated payments
Secondary User: The person who is authorised to make payments. It can be a family member, staff member, helper, or even someone without a UPI-linked bank account. They can make transactions only within set limits
UPI Payment Through IoT: New Innovation for Smart Devices
Another major feature under UPI Circle is the ability to make UPI payments through IoT devices such as Smart glasses, Smart TVs, Connected cars, Smart fridges, Smart speakers, and Gemini-powered devices
This will expand UPI's usage beyond phones; in simple terms, users can pay digitally even without a smartphone.
For example, pay for fuel directly from your connected car or pay for OTT subscriptions from your Smart TV. One can even buy items in-store using smart glasses
