WhatsApp Adds ‘Catalog’ Feature In India; Likely To Help Small Businesses
In its latest addition to the WhatsApp Business App, the instant messaging app company added a feature called 'Catalog,' that allows small businesses to showcase their products to customers.
Earlier, businesses could only share photos of products with customers one at a time and send information individually. The new feature, introduced on Friday, allows users to add information on price, description and the product code to each item and create a catalogue for its customers.
The 'catalog' feature is now available to users of Whatsapp Business app in India, the US, the UK, Brazil, Germany, Indonesia and Mexico who can access it from the "Business settings" on the app.
The catalogue can become a part of the business profile and can be used to share in a chat while conversing with a customer.
How to use the catalog feature on WhatsApp Business?
- Go to Settings on the app and tap on "Business Settings."
- Tap on "Catalog" option.
- You will be redirected to the Catalog page. Tap on "Add Product or Service."
- Add images of products and enter Product Name and Price details. You can tap on "More" option to add details like product description, website link and product code.
- Tap on "Save."
In your chats with a customer, you can tap on the attachment option inside the text box and find the Catalog option there. Tap on it to share your product profile with customers.
