The multitech conglomerate is widening its subscription push to attract power users and heavy AI users. The company is reportedly testing a layered subscription system under the Meta One banner.

Meta's focus on paid subscription came as the company aims to add fresh revenue sources for its main apps that have global access. With the advent of the Meta subscription plan for social media platforms, let's understand what will change for WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook users.

Meta Subscription Plan: Key Changes Expected For WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Users

Users will have to pay $4.99 per month for Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus each. WhatsApp users will have to pay $2.99 per month for the subscription. As per the TechCrunch report, these Meta subscription plans for WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram have been rolled out globally and add extra features around customisation, engagement and insights, beyond what free users already receive.

What Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus Will Offer To Users?

The paid subscription of these social media platforms will offer enhanced features and improved user interaction with content. Instagram Plus will have wider stor-related options. It would also let users create unlimited audience lists that go beyond Close Friends and highlight stories weekly for extra reach.

Additionally, Instagram Plus users will also enjoy extended story durations beyond 24 hours, anonymous story previews and searchable viewers list for more detailed understanding of engagement.

Instagram Plus members can also post directly to their profile without pushing that content into followers feeds. Super Heart reactions, extra profile pins, custom app icons, and adjustable profile fonts.

What Will WhatsApp Plus Users Get?

WhatsApp Plus will focus more on chat experience. The plan introduces app themes, custom ringtones for conversations and more pinned chats. The subscribers of WhatsApp Plus will get to list customisation tools and access to premium stickers. However, standard messaging functions will remain free for all users regardless of of their subscription status.

Meta One Subscription

Meta is also planning to bring its all in one subscription plan, titled 'Meta One'. Meta One Plus will come at a fee of $7.00 per month and Meta One Premium will come at a fee of $ 19.99 per month.
