Delhi's Lakshmi Yojana Release Date: The Delhi Government renamed its women welfare scheme, Mahila Samriddhi Yojana to Delhi Lakshmi Yojana. Apart from the revamp in its name, the scheme may also see minor revisions in benefits and eligibility criteria too.
The decision to rename the flagship women welfare scheme was taken in a high-level review meeting chaired by Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, as per a social media post by Delhi Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on X.

What is Delhi Lakshmi Yojana?
The Delhi Lakshmi Yojana is the latest welfare scheme of the Delhi government. The Delhi government scheme will provider Rs 2,500 per month to eligible women falling in the age group of 21 years to 60 years.
Registered beneficiaries of the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana will receive the monthly allowance via direct bank transfer.
Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Eligibility
To become eligible for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, women must ensure to have no criminal record in their name. Additionally, no other member of her family should also have any criminal record. Within a family, only the eldest eligible women will be eligible for the scheme. Which means that only single women from a family will be eligible for the scheme welfare. The family's annual income should be less than Rs 2.5 lakh. Eligible women must not receive any regular welfare schemes or pension from any government scheme.
When Will Delhi Lakshmi Scheme Be Launched?
Delhi Lakshmi Scheme is expected to be launched in August. Exact date of the scheme launch is yet to be announced.
How To Apply For Delhi Lakshmi Scheme?
The Delhi government is developing a portal to let eligible beneficiaries of the scheme register for the benefit. Once the Delhi Lakshmi Scheme portal will be live, women can register themselves for the scheme. Additionally, a separate software is also being developed along with the portal by the IT department. The portal would help authorities to verify applications and identify all eligible women. An official announcement regarding Delhi Lakshmi Scheme mandatory documents, and enrolment portal is awaited.
