White House UFC event to bring octagon bouts to the South Lawn on 14 June
The White House is set to stage UFC bouts in an octagon-shaped cage on the South Lawn on 14 June. The 5,000-seat temporary arena forms part of US 250th anniversary celebrations and is scheduled to coincide with President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday, drawing major fighters to Washington, DC.
The White House is set to host Ultimate Fighting Championship UFC bouts on the South Lawn on June 14. An octagon-shaped cage will sit in front of the presidential residence. The fights form part of events marking the 250th anniversary of the US founding. The date also lines up with President Donald Trumps 80th birthday.

The plan shows a 5,000-seat temporary arena on the South Lawn. The area usually hosts state visit welcomes and other formal ceremonies. It is also where the President boards the Marine One helicopter for travel. Trump last week revealed an image showing the cage, crowds, and the White House behind.
White House UFC bouts and Trump comments
Trump spoke about the plan when UFC fighters visited the White House on May 6. "I think its going to be the biggest event weve ever had. I mean, the White House doesnt really do athletic events, and these are all the greatest champions. Theyre the greatest fighters in the world. You can tell by looking at it, these are the greatest fighters in the world,\" Trump said.
Trump also described the visiting fighters in blunt terms during the build-up. \"These are real warriors. When we talk about warriors, these are warriors,\" Trump said. The White House event is billed as a major date on the Washington DC calendar. It places a combat sport showcase in a setting known for diplomacy and politics.
White House UFC bouts: fighters, card, and belts
Trump welcomed several fighters tied to the June 14 card at the White House on Wednesday. Justin Gaethje and Ilia Topuria are set to meet in the headliner bout. Their contest is in the lightweight category. Heavyweights Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane will also fight, in one of seven other bouts.
Winners will receive USA-themed UFC Belts linked to the anniversary celebrations. The matches are planned inside an octagon cage on the South Lawn. The event is part of the wider programme for the 250th year since US Independence. Organisers are treating the night as a high-profile public occasion.
White House UFC bouts: viewing plan and public access
Invitations to attend at the White House are expected to be highly sought after. For those without entry, the bouts will be shown free on large screens. The viewing area is The Ellipse, a wide circular lawn south of the residence. Officials plan to place the screens there for the general public.
On Saturday, Trump posted images of the planned UFC arena on Truth Social. The White House also issued a promotional video for the event. The posts highlighted the seating and the cage layout. They also underlined the South Lawn setting, which is usually linked to state functions.
Trump has a long connection with combat sports outside government. Before entering politics, Trump hosted big boxing events at casinos. Trump often sat ringside for heavyweight names such as Mike Tyson. Trump has also attended UFC cards, including one in Miami on April 11.
That Miami visit happened as Vice President J D Vance held direct talks with Iranian leadership in Pakistan. The White House is now preparing for a different kind of high-visibility moment at home. Plans focus on logistics, security, and public viewing areas. The June 14 card is set to merge sport with a historic anniversary theme.
