World’s Top 20 Safest Airlines List Does Not Include Any Indian Carriers
After the recent crash of a Boeing 737 operated by Ukrainian International Airlines, concerns over safety in air-travel has surfaced once again.
In early 2019, aviation regulators across the world banned Boeing 737 MAX planes after two fatal crashes killed 346 people.
According to Germany's Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Center (JACDEC) 293 people died in airline accidents last year when compared to 559 fatalities recorded in 2018. The data shows that while 2019 may have seen a significant number of deaths, it was one of the safest years on record for commercial aviation, beaten only by 2013 and 2017.
According to findings from AirlineRatings.com, evaluated by get.com on the factors like fleet age, safety initiatives, crash records and incident records belonging to more than 400 airlines around the world, here are the top 20 safest airlines:
