WPI: Wholesale Inflation Rises To 9-Month High In November

The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation rose to 1.55% in November against 1.48% in October, as per data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Monday. WPI rose to the highest in nine months mainly due to an increase in prices of manufactured items in the festival season, from a year earlier. In comparison, November 2019 WPI inflation was at 0.58%.

Food inflation for November 2020 is at 4.27% when compared to 5.78% in October 2020.

Primary articles inflation is at 2.72%, down 0.8% month-on-month (MoM) from 4.74% in October 2020. Manufactured products inflation is at 2.97%, up 0.8% when compared to 2.12% in October 2020, and all commodities index is up 0.3% against the previous month.

Fuel and power inflation is at -9.87%, up by 0.2% month-on-month, compared to -10.95% in October 2020.
