Zepto Free Delivery Threshold Raised to Rs 199: Check What Changes for Customers

Under the revised rule, customers in some pin codes will need to order products worth at least Rs 199 to get free delivery. If the order value remains below Rs 199, a delivery fee may be added to the bill.

However, the exact minimum order value and delivery fee can vary from one location to another. Customers may see different charges depending on their pin code, demand, customer profile and other conditions shown on the Zepto app.

Zepto Raises Free Delivery Limit Again: From Rs 99 to Rs 199 in Two Steps

This is not the first time Zepto has increased its free-delivery limit. The company had earlier raised the minimum order value from Rs 99 to Rs 149 for several customers. For example, if a customer wants to order products worth Rs 150, they may either pay the applicable delivery charge or add another product worth at least Rs 49 to take the cart value to Rs 199.

Customers placing larger grocery orders are less likely to notice a major difference because their total bill may already cross Rs 199. The change could also encourage shoppers to combine several small requirements into one larger order instead of placing multiple separate orders.

Quick-commerce companies have to spend money on storing products, packing orders and sending delivery partners to customers. These costs remain even when the customer places a very small order.

Delivering a Rs 100 order can require almost the same delivery effort as delivering a Rs 300 order. By encouraging customers to place slightly larger orders, Zepto can potentially reduce the pressure created by very small orders.
