Profitable Tech Firm Braid Secures $38 Million Series A Funding to Expand Global Connectivity Business
The Hague, November 02, 2026: Braid, a Netherlands-based enterprise connectivity technology company, has raised $38 million in Series A funding led by Octopus Ventures, with participation from KPN Ventures, the strategic investment arm of Dutch telecommunications operator KPN.

The investment marks a significant financing milestone for Braid, which has operated without external capital since its launch in 2023. The company said it is currently profitable and cash-flow positive, serving close to 90 enterprise customers, including major global fintech and travel brands.
Braid intends to deploy the fresh capital towards international expansion, strengthening its telecommunications carrier network and developing its embedded connectivity infrastructure.
First external funding to support business expansion
Unlike businesses that depend on successive funding rounds during their initial development, Braid said it had not raised outside capital before securing its Series A investment.
The company operates an enterprise-focused technology platform that allows businesses to introduce mobile connectivity services under their own brands without establishing themselves as telecommunications operators.
Its infrastructure connects enterprises with more than 600 carriers across over 200 countries through a single application programming interface (API).
Businesses can integrate SIM and eSIM connectivity into existing digital products using APIs or software development kits (SDKs). The platform also enables companies to launch fully branded connectivity storefronts without dedicated engineering development.
According to Braid, enterprises can begin a live trial within three minutes and introduce branded mobile connectivity services in as little as one week.
Conventional arrangements can involve carrier negotiations spanning three to six months, alongside procurement processes and regulatory filings.
Revenue opportunities through embedded connectivity
Braid's business model focuses on providing connectivity infrastructure to enterprises rather than selling mobile subscriptions directly to consumers.
The company sees commercial applications across industries where businesses maintain ongoing relationships with customers.
Travel companies can integrate connectivity into flight bookings, enabling customers to access mobile services during international journeys. Banks can introduce connectivity through customer reward programmes, while sports organisations can provide services to supporters travelling abroad.
These arrangements may enable businesses to generate additional revenue while strengthening customer engagement and retention.
Jignesh Dave, Founder and CEO of Braid, said: "I spent 18 months and half a million euros just to sell my first SIM card, and that is why Braid exists. After seven years running a mobile virtual network, I realised we weren't really selling SIM cards. We had built the infrastructure that makes connectivity accessible to everyone. Amazon built AWS to power its own business and found it could power everyone else's, and it was the same for us. Today a business can start in three minutes. And when brands make connectivity part of their customer experience, they unlock something far more valuable: stronger relationships, greater loyalty and new revenue."
Investor participation and capital deployment
KPN Ventures' participation in the funding round brings a telecommunications industry investor alongside lead investor Octopus Ventures.
Reinout van Ierschot, Executive Vice President of Wholesale at KPN, said Braid's platform enables enterprises to integrate connectivity through a single API, helping reduce operational complexity and accelerate time to market.
Before founding Braid, Dave worked in banking across the United Kingdom and South Africa, including at Lloyds. He subsequently founded and operated a mobile virtual network operator for seven years.
Formerly known as Next Communications, Braid is headquartered in The Hague. The company plans to use the investment to deepen its carrier network, expand internationally and further develop its enterprise connectivity infrastructure.
