5KG LPG Cylinder Prices Hiked Again? 25-Day, 45-Day or 10 Mins, What Is Booking Interval For Mini LPG Refills?

The oil marketing companies (OMCs) have hiked domestic LPG cylinder prices for the second time since the Middle East conflict escalated due to the US and Iran. Notably, 19 Kg commercial LPG prices have seen the most hike for fifth time in a row in four months. Now, 14.2 Kg LPG cylinder prices are costlier by Rs 29 each across cities with effect from June 7, 2026. What about a 5 Kg LPG cylinder? Are chottu LPG prices altered too from Sunday onward?

5 Kg LPG Gas Cylinder Prices From June 5, 2026:

Unlike 14.2 KG domestic LPG cylinder prices, the rates of 5 Kg LPG gas cylinders are unchanged from June 7, 2026. But notably, 5 Kg LPG prices were already hiked on June 1, 2026.

Starting this month, the LPG price of the Indane Chottu gas cylinder, or the popular 5 Kg LPG cylinder, is hiked by Rs 11. This comes after a Rs 261 hike in May 2026 and a Rs 51 hike in April 2026. Hence, Chottu LPG prices have been hiked for three consecutive months now.

The Indane Chottu LPG is priced at Rs 821.50 per cylinder in Delhi. However, there are various versions of 5Kg cylinders and they are priced differently.

Gas Cylinder Booking LPG Refill Rules:

To avoid black marketing and hoarding, the government increased the booking interval period for refilling LPG cylinders from 21-days. Under the new rule, there is a booking interval of 25-days for urban area customers to refill their LPG cylinders, while the rule is 45-days for rural area customers. Apart from this, households are encouraged to opt for alternatives of LPG which can be Kerosene, coal or PNG options.

5Kg Gas Cylinders Booking In 10 Minutes?

One of the initiatives is to make 5Kg LPG cylinders on the counter for citizens who do not have a fixed residents. Hence, Mini LPGs like Indane Chhotu, or Bharat Gas Mini or HP Gas Appu are available on the counter easily and can be bought in just 10 minutes. This comes as a major relief to migrants, workers, students and families who do not have fixed residency or address proof.

5 kg LPG cylinders are called Bharat Gas Mini, HP Appu Gas and Indane Chhotu or Munna, with a weight of around 20 kg. These Chhotu cylinders are small, free-trade LPG available without the need for proof of address or a lengthy application process.

Customers do not require submitting address proofs or security deposits to buy 5Kg cylinders. They also do not need to submit documents like Aadhaar card, PAN card, and Voter ID. The 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder can be refilled as many times in the year. The time taken to refill can be even less than 10 minutes.

How To Book Indane Chottu Mini LPG?

According to the Indian Oil website, customers can get their Chhotu gas cylinder through our extensive network of Indane distributorships and other points of sale, like IndianOil Retail Outlets, select Kirana stores, and select local supermarkets.

Also, customers can get a new Chhotu gas connection by submitting only identity proof. A refill can be obtained by visiting any Point of Sale or Distributorship across the country.

Notably, customers do not need to submit address proofs or security deposits to buy 5 kg cylinders. However, they can get Chhotu gas cylinders by submitting only a Government-recognized Proof of Identity (POI).
