Annapurna Yojana: How to Check Rejected Name, Reapply & Enrolment Status; Aadhaar Issue Explained
Lakhs of women across West Bengal who were expecting their Rs.3,000 monthly Annapurna Yojana payment have instead found their names missing or their applications rejected which was a huge disappointment for them.
The Annapurna Yojana has been the talk of the town since its launch in May 2026 by the Newly Formed BJP government in West Bengal.

However, a lot of confusion has arisen after the electoral-roll verification drive and Aadhaar-linked mismatches in bank and mobile details which led to rejection of Application.
Annapurna Yojana & Eligibility
The Annapurna Yojana, also called the Annapurna Bhandar Prakalpo, is West Bengal's replacement for the earlier Lakshmir Bhandar scheme.
The scheme was announced on May 19th and the online application window opened on June 1st. The first Direct Benefit Transfer was credited to eligible women on June 3rd.
The Annapurna Yojana pays Rs.3,000 per month which is Rs.36,000 per year, directly into a woman's Aadhaar-linked bank account.
In order to qualify for the scheme, the applicant must be a woman, a permanent resident of West Bengal, aged between 25 and 60, and hold an active bank account seeded with Aadhaar for DBT.
However, households where any member is a serving or retired government employee getting a regular salary or pension, or where any family member pays income tax, are excluded, and there is no appeal route for this particular exclusion under current scheme rules. A Voter ID is also mandatory for the application.
Why So Many Names Were Rejected In Annapurna Yojna
The bulk of the rejections were due to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the state's electoral rolls where roughly 26 to 30 lakh beneficiary records were flagged during this process as ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead, or Duplicate) or had some citizenship-related issues. Because of this many women did not receive the July 1 transfer even if they had been paid in June.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari stated on July 1st that of 1.62 crore total applications received by that point, 1.22 crore had been approved while more than 27 lakh had been rejected and placed under re-verification.
It should be noted that existing Lakshmir Bhandar beneficiaries do not need to submit a fresh application in the ordinary course they are migrated automatically once verified but anyone flagged as ASDD during SIR needed to file a fresh application.
How To Check Your Annapurna Yojana Status
To the status of your Annapurna Yojana you must visit the socialregistry.wb.gov.in or socialsecurity.wb.gov.in.
On the portal, select "Access Citizen Portal" or "Track Application," choose your district, and enter either your registered Aadhaar-linked mobile number or your 12-digit Aadhaar number to pull up your application and payment status.
How to reapply and the deadline
The enrolment and reapplication window runs from May 27 to August 25th. During this 90-day period covering both fresh applicants and those whose earlier application was rejected can apply.
Recently the west bengal government has announced that the eligibility criteria for Annapurna Yojana have since been relaxed somewhat, where the rural housing restrictions and urban land-holding limits reportedly removed, and that women who applied by July 10 this year are being given priority in disbursement.
