Annapurna Yojana Sept Payment Alert: 1.58 Crore Women To Get Rs. 3000 Today: Check Payment Status Online

Around 1.58 crore women in West Bengal are expected to receive Rs 3,000 each as part of the state government's Annapurna Yojana on September 17.

According to a PTI report, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced the payment date, which also coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday and is being observed as 'Annapurna Divas' in the state.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said, "Around 1.58 crore women are expected to benefit from the latest direct benefit transfer (DBT), an increase of approximately 10 lakh beneficiaries compared with August."

All About Annapurna Yojna

The Annapurna Yojana is a West Bengal government scheme that was announced by the newly formed BJP government in the state. The scheme launched on June 3rd this year provides monthly financial assistance to eligible women. It replaced the earlier Lakshmir Bhandar scheme, which was run by TMC.

The first phase of payments began in June, when more than 28 lakh women received the assistance. The number of beneficiaries subsequently increased as applications were processed and verified.

Annapurna Yojana Eligibility

The scheme is only meant for eligible women between 25 and 60 years of age who meet the scheme's certain conditions.
According to the eligibility criteria announced by the state government, applicants must:

  • Be between 25 and 60 years old.
  • Reside in West Bengal.
  • Must not be in permanent government employment receiving a regular salary or pension from the Union or state government, or specified government bodies and aided institutions.
  • Not be an income-tax payer.
  • It also excludes women who earn more than Rs 10,000 per month or belong to households with annual income above Rs 12 lakh.

Applicants should check the current official scheme conditions before applying.

How To Check Annapurna Yojana Payment Status Online

Beneficiaries can check their application status through the West Bengal social security portal.

Step 1: Visit the official portal: socialsecurity.wb.gov.in.
Step 2: Enter the 10-digit mobile number used in the application.
Step 3: Request and enter the OTP to log in.
Step 4: Open the "Application Status" section.
Step 5: Verify the application details and any status or rejection information displayed.

If the September instalment has not been credited, beneficiaries should first check their application status and bank account details.
