Attention HDFC Bank Credit Card Users! SmartBuy Rewards to Change From July; Here's What You Need to Know
HDFC Bank credit card customers, pay attention. Your reward point system on the SmartBuy platform is set for a major revamp from July 1, 2026. HDFC Bank credit card reward points have been changed completely. For all HDFC Bank credit card users, here are all the details you need to know.
HDFC Bank Credit Card Changes: What Will Change For Credit Card Holders?
From July 1, 2026, accelerated reward points on SmartBuy, brand vouchers are subject to a separate monthly cap, even when a customer has not exhausted the overall SmartBuy reward limit.

The change applies to vouchers purchased through SmartBuy partners such as Gyftr and Woohoo. The monthly limit will impact HDFC Bank credit cards, including premium and popular variants like Infinia, Diners Black and Regalia.
How and Where To Check The Revised Limit?
Credit card users can check the revised limit on the bank's SmartBuy website, though the bank has not issued a separate public announcement or press release on the revision, as per a Money control report.
What Will Change For HDFC Bank Credit Card Customers?
The revised structure will impact Infinia credit card holders, and other premium HDFC credit card holders. People using HDFC Infinia credit card can earn up to 3,000 accelerated additional limit over and above the card's SmartBuy monthly cap.
Instead, it sits within the existing overall SmartBuy accelerated reward points limit, which remains 15,000 reward points per month for Infinia.
In practical terms, the bank has reduced the ability of cardholders to use brand vouchers as the main route to reach their monthly SmartBuy reward ceiling. Earlier, many users could earn a large part of their monthly accelerated reward points through vouchers for platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy, Myntra and other retail brands available on SmartBuy.
For an Infinia cardholder, the new rule changes the order in which SmartBuy benefits may be used. If the customer earns 3,000 accelerated points from brand vouchers first, the remaining 12,000 points under the 15,000 monthly SmartBuy cap may still be earned through other eligible categories, such as hotel bookings, subject to card terms.
However, if the customer has already earned 14,985 accelerated reward points in a month through another SmartBuy category, a later voucher transaction can add only 15 more accelerated reward points. The total reward credit would then stop at the overall monthly cap of 15,000 points, regardless of the separate voucher limit.
