Public sector lender Canara Bank has announced revision in its Fixed Deposit (FD) and Savings Interest rates for general citizens and senior citizens. The latest rates on FD is effective from 21 May 2025 while that on savings account is applicable from 19 May 2025.
Canara Bank Latest FD Rates
FD rates are applicable for deposits less than Rs 3 crore. Canara bank has made reduction in its FD rates which now range between 4-7 percent for general customers, and 4-7.50 percent for senior citizens as compared to 4-7.25 percent and 4-7.75 percent for general public and senior citizens respectively as on 10 April 2025.

Latest Canara Bank Fixed Deposit Interest Rates for 2025: Understand Tenure and Age-wise Interest Rates
- For tenures of 7 to 45 days, the interest rate is 4.00% for both general and senior citizens.
- For 46 to 90 days, the rate is 5.25% for both groups, compared to the earlier 5.35%.
- For 91 to 179 days, the new rate is 5.50% for both, down from 5.60%.
- For 180 to 269 days, general customers receive 6.15% and senior citizens get 6.65%, compared to the earlier 6.25% and 6.75% respectively.
- For 270 days to less than 1 year, the rates are 6.25% (general) and 6.75% (senior), previously 6.35% and 6.85%.
- For a tenure of 1 year, the new rate is 6.85% for general customers and 7.35% for seniors, compared to the earlier 7.00% and 7.50%.
- The special 444-day deposit offers 7.00% for general and 7.50% for seniors, previously 7.10% and 7.60%.
- For terms above 1 year to less than 2 years, the rate is 6.85% (general) and 7.35% (senior), previously 7.00% and 7.50%.
- For 2 to less than 3 years, the rate is 6.90% and 7.40%, respectively, earlier 7.00% and 7.50%.
- For 3 to less than 5 years, the bank offers 7.00% for general and 7.50% for seniors.
- For 5 to 10 years, the revised rate is 6.70% (general) and 7.20% (senior).
Canara Bank Savings Account Interest Rates 2025: Balance-wise Interest Rates
The bank has also revised its savings account interest rates across different balance slabs, effective from 19 May 2025:
- For balances less than Rs 50 lakh: 2.70%
- For balances from Rs 50 lakh to less than Rs 5 crore: 2.75%
- For balances from Rs 5 crore to less than Rs 10 crore: 2.80%
- For balances from Rs 10 crore to less than Rs 100 crore: 3.05%
- For balances from Rs 100 crore to less than Rs 200 crore: 3.50%
- For balances from Rs 200 crore to less than Rs 300 crore: 3.10%
- For balances from Rs 300 crore to less than Rs 500 crore: 3.10%
- For balances from Rs 500 crore to less than Rs 1000 crore: 3.40%
- For balances from Rs 1000 crore to less than Rs 2000 crore: 3.55%
- For balances of Rs 2000 crore and above: 4.00%
FDs for Senior and Super Senior Citizens
Canara Bank Offers 6.70 percent p.a. for Canara Tax Saver Deposit scheme (General Public). Maximum deposit acceptable is Rs 1.50 Lakh. Additional rate of interest 0.60% for Super Senior Citizen (80 years and above) is introduced under Canara-444 product only i.e. 7.60% for callable deposits and 7.70% for non-callable deposits. The above Rate of interest is applicable to Recurring deposits also.
