As crores of Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) subscribers were eagerly waiting for update on EPFO accounts interest, the exercise is already complete for the first time ever mid-July. The EPFO has completed the credit of 8.35% interest for the financial year 2025-26 to nearly 34 crore member accounts.
Surprisingly, this is for the first time when the EPFO has completed the interest credit process before August as the process used to stretch well into September and even November in the past years. For EPFO subscribers curious about the absolute amount of the interest credited to their account, here's how to check status via EPF Portal, UMANG application, and Passbook Lite.

How To Check Status Via EPFO Member Passbook Portal?
-Visit the official EPFO Member Passbook portal. Navigate the website and log in.
-You are required to log in using your Universal Account Number (UAN), password and captcha.
-Proceed and you will receive an OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
-Click on 'View Passbook' to check your latest balance. You can also check whether the financial year 2025-26 interest has been credited or not.
How To Check EPFO Passbook Status Via UMANG App?
-Log in from your credential and then link your UAN.
-You can view your EPF balance, contributions, transactions and updated passbook directly through the application.
How to Check EPFO Interest Status via SMS?
For EPF members whose UAN is activated and linked with their mobile number, they can check their interest via SMS service as well.
-Send an SMS in the prescribed EPFO format to 7738299899.
-Once you have sent details you can check your latest contribution, available balance and KYC status. The service is available in different Indian languages.
How To Check EPFO Interest Via EPFO Passbook Lite?
EPFO's Passbook Lite is another option available to check EPFO passbook.
-EPFO members are required to log in to the EPFO passbook service.
-Now select the Passbook Lite option.
-Check the summary of contributions, withdrawals and balance information.
