EPFO Alerts On Steps To Ward Off PF Related Scam

In a tweet on Monday, the provident fund managing body said that "Be informed: #EPFO never asks you to share your details or deposit any amount in the bank. Don't disclose your personal information over the phone". The organization has alerted its subscribers and has asked to refrain from making any personal disclosures over phone.

Last month also the PF managing body alerted subscribers and asked not to share personal details including EPF account number, bank details, PAN, aadhaar together with UAN.

"EPFO never asks you to share your personal details like Aadhaar, PAN card, UAN or bank details over phone. EPFO never calls any member or subscriber to deposit any amount in any bank. Please do not respond to such fake calls," EPFO said on its website and Twitter.

For the grievance redressal, you as a member of EPFO are provided multiple options such as a dedicated EPFiGMS portal, call centre, social media etc. You can also raise complaint with the ministry of labour and employment which then would forward it to the EPFO. Also the organizations call centre is on the works 24 x 7 including Saturdays and Sundays and here you can go and seek help. Also, you can dial the toll free number 1800118005 for any help.
