The temporary shutdown is part of a scheduled system migration aimed at upgrading EPFO's digital infrastructure to deliver faster, more secure and reliable online services. EPFO Portal To Stay Down From June 26 to June 30
According to EPFO, its Member Portal, Employer Portal and services available through the UMANG app will remain offline throughout the migration period. As a result, members will not be able to log in to their accounts, submit fresh PF withdrawal claims, track pending applications, download e-passbooks or access several other online facilities.
Employers will also be impacted, as they will be unable to access the Employer Interface for filing Electronic Challan-cum-Returns (ECR), managing employee records or completing UAN-related processes for newly joined staff.
EPFO Portal Down: Which Services Will Not Be Available?
The outage will also affect users who access EPFO services through the UMANG app, including facilities such as checking PF balance, applying for scheme certificates, updating Aadhaar with UAN, tracking claims, locating EPFO offices and registering grievances.
EPFO said the temporary suspension is necessary to migrate its systems to a more advanced technology platform that will improve the speed, stability and security of its digital services once the upgrade is complete.
How to Check EPF Balance While the Portal Is Down
Although the Member Portal will remain inaccessible, EPFO subscribers can still obtain limited account information through offline mobile services, provided their Universal Account Number (UAN) is properly activated and linked with Aadhaar, PAN and bank account details.
Members can check their EPF balance by:
Giving a missed call from their registered mobile number to 011-22901406
Sending an SMS to 7738299899 in the format:
EPFOHO UAN ENG (for English)
EPFOHO UAN HIN (for Hindi)
These services will work only if the member's UAN is fully KYC-compliant.
