EPFO Deadline Extension: Last Date To Upload Wage Details For Higher Pension Extended To May 31, 2024

The retirement fund body Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has extended the last date for employers to upload wage details for higher pensions by five months to May 31, 2024. The earlier deadline to upload wage details for higher contributions was December 31, 2023.

With the extension in deadline, subscribers can now upload their wage details online till May 31, 2024.

In a press release dated Jan 3, 2024, the Ministry of Labour & Employment said, "In view of representations received from Employers & Employers' Associations wherein requests were made to extend time period for uploading wage details of applicant pensioners / members, the employers were also given further period of three months to submit wage details etc. online latest by 30.09.2023.

This time was further extended till 31.12.2023 because many representations were received from Employers & Employers' Associations wherein requests were made to extend further time period for uploading wage details of applicant pensioners / members."

According to labor ministry over 3.6 lakh Applications for Validation of Option/Joint Options are still pending with the employers for processing.

"Therefore, in order to ensure that employers process these remaining Applications for Validation of Option / Joint Options, the Chairman, CBT EPF has kindly approved the proposal to grant another extension of time for the employers for uploading wage details online etc till 31st May, 2024," said the labour ministry in a statement.

Documents required to apply for Higher pension from EPF:

Some of the documents that you will need while filing the online application form include your Universal Account Number (UAN), Pension Payment Order (PPO), Mobile number linked with the Aadhaar number, and Aadhaar number, name, and date of birth should be available in the EPFO's records.

How To Apply For Higher Pension:

Step 1: Visit Member e-Sewa portal - https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
Step 2: A new homepage will open. Select "Application form for joint options.
Step 3: Enter the required details i.e., UAN, Name, Date of birth, Aadhaar number, Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha. Click on "Get OTP". A one-time password will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
Step 4: Once the OTP is entered, you will be required to validate your details.
Step 5: Ensure that all the details mentioned in the form are correct. Click on "Submit" for final submission of the application.
Once the application form is successfully submitted, an acknowledgement number will be generated. Keep this acknowledgment number on hand for reference in the future.
